In his welcoming speech, Professor Shore offered valuable insights and advice to the graduates as they prepare to embark on their careers. He praised the graduates and reaffirmed LJMU’s commitment to international collaboration. Professor Shore also highlighted how YPC International College exemplifies the spirit and ethos of LJMU, particularly in delivering high-quality, industry-focused programmes that meet the needs of local, national, and international employers.
Ms. Sundram, in her introductory note, she commended the LJMU-YPC partnership as a testament to the enduring UK-Malaysia collaboration in education—a journey that began in 2005 and has since grown in strength, value, and innovation. She expressed pride in the way LJMU and YPC serve as an excellent example of how educational partnerships can foster people-to-people connections, drive positive change, and contribute to communities and nations, aligning with the British Council’s mission in education.

The ceremony also featured a highlight—a contribution from an LJMU alumnus to the Social Impact Education Fund. Dato’ Thavalingam witnessed firsthand how UK higher education profoundly impacted his life and career. Now, he is committed to giving back to society.
