Bsc (Hons) Multimedia Computing (BMC)
Programme Overview
The BSc (Hons) Multimedia Computing programme offered in collaboration with Liverpool John Moores University incorporates a number of distinct themes embedded in a solid framework of professional computing development.
The major themes include; computer systems development, web and digital media production, database design, development and management, project management and image processing and mixed reality development.
Multimedia computing is at the heart of many of the most exciting technological developments in recent years. The huge growth in internet use in recent years in the form of web and e-commerce developments, the delivery of streaming content by companies such as the BBC, Astro and Netflix owes much to multimedia computing.
However, this is only the beginning for multimedia computing as new innovations in augmented and virtual reality are providing opportunities for the development of ground-breaking applications with these new technologies.
The programme is the result of extensive communications with industry; both LJMU and YPC maintains a regular industry advisory panel. This BSc Multimedia Computing (Hons) programme will prepare students with the necessary theoretical and practical skills to be a computing and digital media development professional ready to work and succeed in this challenging and exciting industry.
